Having aimed to start an independent accounting firm since he was a student, Yasuhiro Kuramochi worked for two years as a company employee in Japan after graduating from Rikkyo University’s department of business and economics.
In 2001, he came to Australia on a working holiday and spent time diving in Cairns and surfing in Maroochydore, on the Sunshine Coast, while studying English. Charmed by the big hearted people and warm climate, he decided to become qualified to practice as an accountant in Australia. In 2002, he visited New Zealand on a working holiday, studying English at Raglan University while surfing.
Yasuhiro Kuramochi was accepted by Griffiths University in 2003 and moved to Australia. Majoring in accounting, he studied Australia’s taxation and business law. After graduating two years later, he was awarded a Skilled Independent visa and obtained permanent residency. He then worked as the finance manager at a Japanese foreign student exchange company on the Gold Coast, managing the finances of four branches, and preparing monthly reports and other documentation, as well as engaging in correspondence regarding external auditing, for the head office in Japan.
In 2006, he transferred to a position in Sydney, and worked as the head of finances, managing the financial operations of multinational staff and small to medium enterprises. Here he developed many skills in finance management, taxation accountancy and cash flow management, as well as experience regarding compliance with internal controls and management of employment.
Following this, he worked in three accounting firms, deepening his knowledge and experience with meeting the needs of various clients, from self-employed individuals to listed companies, regarding taxation, accounting and revenue compliance. In his 20s and 30s he gained experience with shares, investment trusts, retail foreign exchange trading, insurance, real estate, and various areas related to investment, becoming qualified to be a financial planner and mortgage broker in Australia.
In 2015, having acquired over 10 years of experience with various types of industries and strategies, and wanting to support the Japanese community in his beloved Australia, Yasuhiro Kuramochi opened his own firm, having been encouraged by working with many self-employed individuals and managers of small businesses, assisting them with many financial services including taxes, accounting, insurance, and investment and home loans.
